Our House Journey - Part 5/5
Looking back on the past 15 months, I can’t say I would have chosen this for myself. I lost my dream job March 2020. Aimless and lost, I threw myself into content creation. It wasn't nearly enough to pay the bills. There were months on end where I earned nothing.
Our House Journey - Part 4/5
After the loss of my mother in law, we wanted a fresh start and that’s when thekwendyhome 2.0 as you know it made its debut on Instagram. I started updating my family and friends on my private account, storying in excess of 100 slides a day.
Our House Journey - Part 3/5
We were just two kids in love, house broke but full of dreams. We envisioned many Christmas parties, hoped that one day, the pitter patter of little feet would be heard running up and down the stairs of this little townhome. But before any of these dreams became reality, tragedy struck. K’s mom got ill. And she never got better.
Our House Journey - Part 2/5
What was initially a perceived blow to us became a huge blessing.
After our landlord informed us that they were moving, we didn’t know where to go. We had planned to rent out their basement apartment for the next 3-5 years and save for a down payment. Their decision accelerated our own plans to start house hunting for our very first home.
Our House Journey - Part 1/5
It’s demo day (somewhere mid July) at thekwendyhome 3.0! I’m excited, nervous and incredibly grateful to share this journey with you.
House Hunting Update
I thought the next time I blogged about this house hunting journey I would have good news for you. But I don't. And at first I wasn't going to blog about it because who wants to read a story without an ending.
Why we sold our house and what now?!
Soooo you might have heard or saw the ridiculous break up music video announcing that we sold our house! And lots of good questions came up. I'll try to answer some reoccurring questions.
We are selling our house!
YUP! You read that right, we are listing our house next week and I'm feeling ALL the emotions right now. This house has been so so good to us. But it's time for us to look at a new chapter in our lives.
My First Year as a Full Time Influencer, 2020 in Review
2020 was the year I lost my job and was thrust into a new adventure. I became a content creator/ Influencer full time. And to be honest, I would have never chosen to do so.
Spilling the Tea on Influencers
Ok, this is not clickbait. But to set the record straight, this is not a blog post on drama between influencers because I am not about the drama llama. And honestly, I have fantastic relationships with my friends on Instagram! They're all super supportive over there.
Exposing Myself as an Influencer
Hey guys, my name is Wendy and I'm an influencer. I guess I should define the word influencer before I get into my TED talk since even Microsoft Word doesn't think it's a real word. (I'm staring at a red squiggly line under the word as I type.)
Our New Normal
I'm really getting into the swing of things and getting use to this new normal as we all stay home. I've partnered up with Samsung for this blog post to share some of the things I've been doing to stay home, stay safe and stay healthy.
I love my new morning routine.
What it's like to be a flight attendant during COVID-19
May this blog post find you well dear readers. You guys are so incredibly sweet. I have had an influx of messages and inquiries as to my well-being in light of COVID-19.
I am writing to share my experience during this time. In this blog post, I will strive to be factual. I do not want to induce panic or fear. This is just a report of how I am personally doing and what I have observed.
I would have been a good mom.
There I said it. Can you tell this is going to be a heavier blog post than normal? hah!
But for real, this blog post has been weighing on me since April 2019 when I first started a blog. It has gone through so many revisions I have lost count and I wish I hit publish on EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
What I learned on Instagram in 2019
2019 was the year of Instagram for me. And as it draws to a close I am looking back on what I've learned, accomplished and I am reflecting on what I want to change moving forward. I have never been an ambitious person and never tried very hard at many things in life. And for some reason, this year I decided to start taking Instagram seriously.
My Favourite Trailing Plants
It's a weird flex but I'm going with it anyway. I own a lot of plants. Not like a crazy crazy amount but a fairly decent number. I don't own anything fancy or have rare plants like some serious plant parents. But I recently recounted my plants and in my sun room alone I have 47 plants!!!!
