Looking back on the past 15 months, I can’t say I would have chosen this for myself. I lost my dream job March 2020. Aimless and lost, I threw myself into content creation. It wasn't nearly enough to pay the bills. There were months on end where I earned nothing.

After the loss of my mother in law, we wanted a fresh start and that’s when thekwendyhome 2.0 as you know it made its debut on Instagram. I started updating my family and friends on my private account, storying in excess of 100 slides a day.

We were just two kids in love, house broke but full of dreams. We envisioned many Christmas parties, hoped that one day, the pitter patter of little feet would be heard running up and down the stairs of this little townhome. But before any of these dreams became reality, tragedy struck. K’s mom got ill. And she never got better.

What was initially a perceived blow to us became a huge blessing.

After our landlord informed us that they were moving, we didn’t know where to go. We had planned to rent out their basement apartment for the next 3-5 years and save for a down payment. Their decision accelerated our own plans to start house hunting for our very first home.

YUP! You read that right, we are listing our house next week and I'm feeling ALL the emotions right now. This house has been so so good to us. But it's time for us to look at a new chapter in our lives.
